The phenomenon of making up words for the sake of making up words, with the insinuation that it is in fact very easy for any person to make up a word. A smingledingus refers to the product of such arbitrary word inventions.

Shingled

When you give your friends a sizable amount of money to put a new roof on their house as an act of generosity and kindness because you felt sorry for them only to find out later that they blocked you on social media for no good reason whatsoever.

I gave my gave my once good friends a lot of dough for a roof and the thanks I received was they shingled me in return, blocking me on social media and ignoring me from that point on.
