Nonversation

A conversation in which words are exchanged between people — often co-workers — but nothing is really said.

Two office colleagues bump into each other in the hallway. This is them having a nonversation:

Office worker #1: Hey, so I heard it went well.

Office worker #2: Yup. Went great.
Office worker #1: Glad to hear. And we're still good for Tuesday?
Office worker #2: Yup. Nothing's changed.

Office worker #1: Great. Well let me know if anything does.
Office worker #2: Of course.
Office worker #1: Ok, great. Thanks.

nonversation

A conversation that does involves large amounts of nonsense or other randomness. These conversation are generally between two very bored or two very creative teenagers as a way to pass time.

Gadson: Uh, I'm so bored.
Ellie: Lets have a nonversation to pass the time
Gadon: Okay but first i need to make sure that my weasel took its bath.
Ellie: Thats fine. I know weasels hate baths. I heard that pictures of dancing bagels can help.

Nonversation

A conversation through eye contact. When everything important that needs to be said, gets said through a look.

My spouse and I couldnt think of any words to say to describe our love, so we had a nonversation. Everything that we were thinking was said through our eye contact.

nonversationist

A person who when talked to doesn't make much sense and is a bad conversationist. The person being talked to walks away more confused then when they started the nonversation. The nonversationist usually enjoys hearing themselves and rambling on about nothing.

Betty: I just had a nonversation with Joanne.
Laurianne: I'm sorry I forgot to tell you shes such a nonversationist

Nonversation

1. When people are together and NOT talking

2. When 2 people can have comfortable silence between them

3. when you understand someone enough to communicate with them through mood, look or touch rather than words.

Mom keeps talking to Dad while he is trying to watch the football game.
Dad says " damn woman, cant we have a little nonversation right now? Im trying to watch the game!!!"

It was a long, exhausting day. He understood that it was nothing personal, but I didnt really feel like talking. So we just sat quietly and sipped wine as the sunset. It was the best nonversation ever!

A conversation in which three or more people are involved in a discussion, but one person (usually the same person) is consistently & completely unheard/ignored.

"I was excited to go out with Topher & our friend Ascott, but when we got back to our apartment, the typical nonversation ensued. I didn't speak for a good five hours, at least. Another disappointing night."
