intersectionality

Concept used to describe ways in which shitty social constructs like -isms & -phobias are interconnected (intersectional! geddit?) and not magically separate issues.

Also used to describe how social inequality is experienced as an "intersection" of several forms of discrimination.

For instance, feminism that totally ignores racism is inevitably going to fall flat on its face, and pretending all social issues boil down to "it's all about claaaaaass!" is an exercise in brainlessness.

A transsexual black woman experiences intersectionality because she experiences both transphobia, racism, and sexism.

People who cry "you're just being divisive! these are separate issues!" are ignoring intersectionality.

Rankin Intermediate

The greatest school for grade 4-6 to ever exist. Anybody who went there knows. All the greatest teachers. Recess every day. Hype kickball. Frooty dealers. Gettin your class challenged to a kickball game. Knockin homers on the roof and over the fence. Lunchtime. Gym. Dodgeball. Nachos and cheese days. Rankin deserves some recognition it was greatest school of all time.

Person 1: I miss the sick kickball games we used to play in Rankin."

Person 2:"Yeah those were the days, Rankin Intermediate was so hype."

300 meter intermediate hurdles

One of the hardest races. You run for 300 meters and there's hurdles. There is only eight hurdles in the race. There is only 35 meters between each hurdle. There lower then the 110 high hurdles. Its not in collage track or professional. Some high schools have it.

Joe- Why are you so tired? Bob- Man i just got done with the 300 meter intermediate hurdles.

Intersectionality

The idea that all social issues are connected on a deeper level. Intersectionality brings forth the idea that racism, sexism, transphobia, etc are connected and can't be abolished individually. To combat different types of oppression, Intersectionality states that we should all fight against it equally. In short, men need to fight for women, white women need to fight for brown women, women need to fight for trans women/trans men, Christians need to fight for Muslims, etc. Intersectionality is often linked to feminism, and sometimes wrongly confused as being radical when it is not. Intersectionality exludes SWERFS, TERFS, and "white only" feminists.

Intersectionality states that one form of oppression can be shaped by and can shape other forms of oppression. Racism, for example, can be sexualised, or women’s oppression can be racialised – and this happens in such a way that it becomes impossible to view different oppressions as separate.
