To attempt to block or hinder someone else's success in your field/industry though backroom dealings and other means of influence. These attempts are generally done by someone who perceives you as a threat. Often, these attempts are obvious and make the genshafter look desperate to maintain the status quo.

Named after Judy Genshaft, the president of the University of South Florida, who continues to try and block the University of Central Florida, another nearby state school on the rise, from entering the same NCAA conference as USF as not to weaken her institution.

A person who is addicted to buying guns. Usually owns more than 20 guns and has a list of at least three more guns that he/she intends to purchase as soon as funds come available. Purchases more guns in a panic when Democrats get elected to office, or on rumors of anti-gun legislation. Also known to constantly surf the internet and gun auctions for deals on guns.

That Fred's a real gunoholic - he is constantly asking me to cover for him if his wife calls while he's picking up his latest firearm acquisition from his FFL (licensed firearms dealer).

Shiny Toy Guns is an indie/electronica/rock band that originated from Oklahoma. The members are:

Gregori Chad Petree
Jeremy Dawson
Mikey Martin
Sisely Treasure

In August 2008, Sisely Treasure replaced Carah Faye Charnow as the female singer of the group.

They have released two albums - 'We Are Pilots' and 'Seasons of Poison'. They have also had seven singles.

Shiny Toy Guns is an amazing band that mixes both a female and male singer, as well as hypnotizing techno beats and electrifying lyrics to create some of the best songs you will ever hear.

One of my favorite songs from Shiny Toy Guns is 'Chemistry of a Car Crash'.

gumshoe

An old slang term for a detective or investigator (police-affiliated or private). Variants include "dick" or "private dick," the connotations of which were not meant to be obscene.

Shoes in the late 1800s were made of gum rubber - the soft-soled precursors of the modern sneaker. The phrase "to gumshoe" meant to sneak around quietly as if wearing gumshoes.

"Gumshoe man" was originally slang for "thief," but by about 1908 the term "gumshoe" was used to refer to a police detective, and the term has stuck ever since (pun intended).

Sam Spade, the most well-known gumshoe of noir cinema, spent the majority of The Maltese Falcon trying to solve a murder mystery.
