gnarley

Contemporarily, "gnarley", as used in Hawaii, means: (1) rugged, difficult, burley; or (2)nasty, rank, disgusting. Quite different from the stereotypical-SoCal-surfer usage of the word.

(1) -Dude, that test was so frickin' gnarley!
-I know! I definitely got worked.

(2) -Somebody passed out in their own barf at that party last night.
-Awwww, gnarley!

Garvey

A Garvey is a social butterfly. They can master everything that they touch. they like to Skate, jump on trampolenes and listen to the Pixies. Once you know a Garvey they leave a lasting impression. Always treat a Garvey with respect. Never a dull moment with them around. Spontaneous and fun loving and always ready for anything. A 'magical' being that knows what you are thinking even before you think it. Typically a redhead with lots of freckles and usually tall. Intimidating at first but worth the effort of getting to know. A Garvey has many alias' such as a Ginger: Crapface: and also Irish Fuck. Always stick with a Garvey and life will be good.

gnarley

Despite bastardization in recent years to the alternate (Read: "Gay") spelling, Narley, gnarley is akin to rad - a late-1980s - early-1990s term, meaning "exceptional", or "cool". Developed on the West Coast, and used primarily by sufers and skateboarders.
