flame war

A flame war is a heated argument between two individuals, that results in those involved posting personal attacks on each other during or instead of debating the topic at hand.

Most forums have rules that forbid flaming. This is because the quality of conversation on a forum can be seriously degraded by a flame war. Topics can be "hijacked" by two people who would rather flame each other than discuss the subject of the thread.

Some websites encourage flaming for the purpose of entertainment. One such website is www.flamewarforum.com.

I can't come to work today because i'm having a flame war on www.flamewarforum.com.

fame-seeking missile

An expression used to describe a person who will stop at nothing in an attempt to become or remain famous, even if that means humiliating themselves, betraying their friends, endangering their children, disgracing humanity, etc.

Recent examples of fame-seeking missiles have sold the story of their affairs with married celebrities, released sex tapes, photos, voicemails, and sexts, posed naked, posed semi-naked with Kermit the frog, pretended to launch their kid in a balloon, had 10 cosmetic surgeries in one day, compromised national security at a state dinner, wrote a tell-all, had a litter of kids, checked into rehab, PRehab, or mehab, quit her job as governor, took a punch in the face on camera, had the last name Lohan, and, of course, agreed to be filmed for a reality show.

Internet fame

The best damn fame there is. I mean, think about it. You get recgnised by thousands, or maybe millions of people online, but when you get tired of their hysterical fangirlishness at seeing you post, you can just switch off your computer and sink back into anonymity.

Fame name

The God-awful, ridiculously over the top first name given to the unsuspecting spawn of an ego maniacal,attention grabbing celebrity parent or parents.

Would be fair to say Frank Zappa's child, Moon Unit, was given a fame name .
