Origin: deuce bag is a bag, bottle or jar, used in medieval times by superstitious people, in which nasty bits of things such as urine and bits of hair or nail clippings were kept, sealed up, and hidden somewhere in a house. The thinking was that if you trapped nasty things in a closed, designated space in your house, it would keep bad luck sealed inside the bag, bottle, jar, etc and away from the residents. Not to be confused with the much more vulgar term douchebag.
