Originally a prison term in Delaware County, PA, a federally illegal private prison, one of the worst County jails in the US, Prisoners sneak and cheek meds, and basically to a pot luck snorting powder. Frequently contains, Wellbutrin, Seroquil, Effexor, Benydryl, Ambien, Zoloft, Lithium and basically anything inmates can get. It’s ground into powder and snorted like Cocaine or Heroine. Usually referred to as The Cocktail in delco.

Exhibitions of stoicism by male residents of Delaware County (PA). Examples of Delco Passion include berating CYO refs, being the loudest guy in the room at a parish fundraising activity, busting balls along subtle class lines (for example, searching for and destroying young men in your community whose parents send them to Catholic Academies) and pregaming CYO football games.
Did you see Mr. Riggins in his Utley World Baseball Classic jersey at the St. Agnes St. Bernies game last weekend? Guy had a keg out at 815, haven't seen such Delco Passion since last year before the Turkey Bowl.

Delaware County when it was simply called the "suburbs", where there were trees, back yards, clean streets, and nobody opened fire plugs on hot days since there were some real swimming pools there. Darby-Colwyn and Chester were the exceptions, and were the original Delco. Pre-Delco is a term usually used by older persons who lived in W or SW Philly and remember when those suburbs was where "the rich folks" lived, or folks moved to once they became successful or got a better job, and then they got all hoity-toity, snobby and lost all sense of street-smarts.
Movin out to Pre-Delco Upper Darby, Ridley, or Yeadon used to be the American Dream and were real nice places till folks stopped sweepin off their front stoop, cuttin their grass, and takin their trash cans in, so it's been downhill ever since.

Founded by the podcast Delco Live, it is a day where we celebrate all the great things that make Delco, Delco. Recognized as an official state holiday since 2018 after being unanimously voted on by PA congress. The official day is June 10th. It is celebrated usually the Saturday after or before the tenth with an all day event that raises money for charity.
