Is assigned to work with partner Fox Mulder to act as his foil and lend credence to his investigations into paranormal phenomena. Contrary to Mulder, is very skeptical of paranormal reports and conspiracy theories. Has a doctorate of medicine. Despite differences, the agents respect each other. Kicks all kinds of ass.

Dana Scully has an explanation for everything under the sun, much to Mulder's chagrin.
