Being Denton

Being Denton is a state of mind where you reject all enthusiasm for anything and bring down the world around you with your cynical demeanor.

Being cynical and being Denton are very similar things by defination; but you can always tell when someone is being Denton, as all nearby children under the age of seven, who are too weak to fight the force of Denton will become moderately didappointed.
Mike, could you just pass me that lead over?

"what? You mean I actually HAVE to move?"

God, you're being Denton.

"Why?" asks the BFF on the other end of the phone call.

X-Boxing Day

It is the one day over the Christmas holidays where you are entitled to uninterrupted X-Box entertainment without the apprehension of having to switch it off.

This remarkable day occurs either on Boxing Day or on some other agreed day with your spouse.

Whilst it is lovely spending time with family, this is an effective pragmatic settlement that helps to soften the unpleasant experience of unwillingly enduring dreary Christmas TV, imposed through common family demand.
"I hear you are not spending Christmas at home this year, is there any chance you could jump online for some Special Ops?"

"No, but I do have an X-Boxing day agreement. Unfortunately I am ill-fated to be in an unfamiliar habitat during Christmas, but Knowing X-Boxing day is nearing whilst I respectfully give my support to another’s customary routine, is especially reassuring."

Boxing Day

Originating in the United Kingdom and spreading through the commonwealth countries, Boxing Day is a holiday that extends all the way from the Medieval period when the Lord's serfs were still barred from partaking in the royal Christmas festivities. While Christmas Day is usually spent with family members and often is a very spiritually centered and wholesome time, Boxing Day is the more secularly celebratory day of the Holiday season wherein celebrators gather with their close friends (and perhaps some lingering family members) and get hammered in the spirit of Christmas. So hammered that several drunken boxing fights are known to break out between friends and family members, people whom wouldn't usually be partaking in drunken boxing let alone the act of getting wasted together.
"Man, it's Boxing Day! Let's go out and get schlammered in the spirit of Christmas!"

"Dude... I just celebrated Boxing Day yesterday, I never thought I would get wasted in front of my Grandma..."
