When a situation or person is so awkward that they are beyond the normal definition of awkward and at the point where they are simply a thick liquid kind of awkward that adds moistness and flavor to garnish your life.

awk shock

The stomach-turning shock that fills your body when you notice that someone who are awkward with (ie a previous hook up, or some one that you are embarrassed to be around) is in the vicinity. An awk shock may lead to a feeling of fear and nervousness, and the act of squealing, running, ducking, or hiding to avoid the awkwardness.

I had a full-blown awk shock when I turned around to see that the person who I hooked up with last week was standing right in front of me in the dining hall.
