Batting Above His Average

When a male picks up a female substantially more attractive than all his previous efforts in women.

(Derived from the English gentleman’s sport of Cricket)
Terrance: Did you see Ugly Bob’s lady friend?!

Phillip: I did! He’s batting above his average for sure!

Terrance: Pull my finger Terrance!

The Law of Averages

The Law of Averages is a layman's term used to describe the belief that the results of any given event "work out" or "even out" over a set of trials in the short run.

The LoA's assumes that balance will always occur within a small sample.

Essentially, it is the belief that a rare occurrence will happen given enough time and is similar to the shotgun effect
1) If you flip a coin 10 times, the Law of Averages states that 5 flips will be heads, and the other 5 flips will be tails.

2) If you apply to enough Universities, the Law of Averages states that you will eventually get into atleast one.

Average Joe

In the world of coffee, an average joe means an average cup of coffee. Usually it falls halfway between watered down cardboard and decent storebought coffee.
I bought a large container of Maxwell House coffee from Kroger and it tasted like an average joe.

my life is average

A website where not-so-average people post not-so-average stories, usually about Harry Potter, how much they hate Twilight (they really do hate it), pirates and ninjas, or how they engaged in a random lightsaber duel with their principal, and received a high-five for it. Most entries on the site beg the question "Really?"

Most entries consist of a fantastical story about how wonderfully whimsical their day was, or how awesomely nerdy and clever they are, followed by the phrase "MLIA", which is of course short for the rather untrue "my life is average".
--"Today, in chemistry class, my teacher came in dressed as Professor Snape, and taught us 'Potions' instead of regular chemistry. It's not even Halloween! my life is average."

--"I call bullshit."
