gentlekind

(1) The successor to mankind and humankind. (2) Used as a form of address: "Gentlekind" as in "Ladies and Gentlemen", or instead of "sir" and "madam". (3) Used as a form in closing in correspondences. Instead of "Sincerely yours", "Sincerely gentlekind"; or instead of "Regards", "Gentlekind regards". (4) A goal for us of the second millennium to find resolution to all of the human race's problems which has plagued us for all time: war, hunger, discrimination, autocracies, illnesses, inequality, injustices, disrespect of others’ religions, conservation of resources, etc. If achieved by all humankind striving to change for the better and for better relationships, the people of the third millennium will look back and say that those of the second millennium achieved the state of gentlekind; and as such, those of the third millennium will deserve to be called "gentlekind".

I coined this word on Wednesday, January 8, 2003. I was pulling out of my brother's driveway as we are going to a funeral & he knew the directions. After many cars passing, one finally stopped, with a shaded windshield. Immediately I said out loud: "Thank you Sir/Madam" and then the word, "Gentlekind" because I could not tell who was driving the car. I believe I was inspired by the individual whose funeral we were attending. The four definitions came all to me that day.
I've met several really good individuals, all deserving of being called gentlekind.
