This sack can become inflamed due to a need for attention, presenting with pain and/or swelling to the general location of the sack (with a 17:1 female to male ratio). In extreme cases the sack can rupture causing erratic symptoms in unbalanced patients. Finally, the emotional sack atrophy, leaving a once compassionate caregiver with an inhibited sense of empathy (which can sometimes result as cynicism).
