The first book/chapter of Petronius' "The Satyricon", God awful book, that is reminiscent of a terrible nightmare.

Character gets lost in a town,
Asks old lady for help,
Old lady leads him to a brothel,
Character finds friend there,
Character hears that friend raped his young boyfriend,
Character and friend eventually after running into trouble with the law make it back to their dwelling,
Lady busts in and threatens them to keep secret the brothel,
Male prostitute violently rapes them, and continues to rape them,
other meaningless crap,
the end.

I was scared shitless after being forced to read Puteoli for a class. The type of uneasy feeling that you get after watching a horror movie.
