Within recent years many new bands have emerged with obvious post-punk influences. The sounds of post-punk are usually dark, rhythm guitar based with strong basslines coupled with simple drumbeats. The vocalists are often very original sounding and the lyrics, insightful as opposed to commercially accessable. Along with the music a fashion developed consisting of very plain clothing, sometimes dark eyeliner and for the boys short simple haircuts and for the girls more flamboyant hair.
