hard drive

An object mounted inside a computer that holds data. Not to be confused with the computer itself, the hard drive in the average desktop computer is made of metal and is about the size of a mass-market paperback book.

He said he was having a problem with a port on the hard drive... of course he'd actually blown the controller chip on his USB card and the hard drive was just fine. I didn't know whether to applaud the fact that he knew what the problem was or cry because he still didn't know the right words for it.

Bus Driver Wave

When two bus drivers pass each other during their routes, they wave at each other. It happens commonly in both public transit and school bus routes, and is meant to convince the bus drivers that they actually have friends.

Two bus drivers are at opposite ends of an intersection. As they pass, they wave at each other. This is, simple put, a Bus Driver Wave.

dreaving

Dreaving is the act of driving sloppily while intoxicated. It's not just drinking and driving; dreaving refers to the driving act itself, usually involving drifting over yellow lines, weaving in and out of lanes, sliding through red lights, etc. In order to constitute true dreaving, the driving needs to be so bad that it is quite apparent to an outside observer that the driver is intoxicated.

"-Man, that guy is dreaving all over the place!
-I know, he just drifted into the median!"

drive-by fireworking

When you throw fireworks out of a moving vehicle. Usually done in residential areas.

The Grand-Am was egged because it was speeding through the neighborhood while the occupants inside were drive-by fireworking.
