It doesn't mean running riot, lying, cheating, stealing, & philandering (etc.) without compunction. It does mean relaxing, enjoying the moment, stringing enjoyable moments together when you can, "chilling." Taking a moral holiday means momentarily lightening up and taking it easy, not carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, not being hopelessly depressed by depressing realities.
"The universe is a system of which the individual members may relax their anxieties occasionally, in which the don’t-care mood is also right for men, and moral holidays in order... I fully believe in the legitimacy of taking moral holidays." William James

A walk in the park when you COULD be working and feeling bad is a moral holiday.

One who, despite having an abundance of friends and family, finds himself inexplicably alone on major holidays (esp. at Christmas).
Damn, I should never have spent my last 500 dollars on that prostitute last week. Now I can't afford the airfare to go home for Christmas. I'm always such a holiday loser!

Holiday Card: A way for people to brag about how well their children are doing and all of their accomplishments. An obnoxious thing to do and most of the time they include multiple page 'updates' on their lives.
Bill: Hey! I got something in the mail!
Anna: Eh, it's probably just another Holiday Card
Bill: Yeah...who wants to hear about how their kids got into private school...mehh

The period from December 26 to January 1 when the emotional high of the holidays dissipates and a person realizes another year of their life is gone and a new year of crap begins.
I get so depressed during the holiday gouch. Christmas is over, the family has gone and I go back to work in a few days with no parties in sight. post-holiday paranoia, December depression, Christmas craziness,New Year nervousness, holiday, Christmas, New Year, depression, anxiety
