His actually driving ability is comparable to J.J. Yeley, who is just a mediocre driver. Gordon's success has came because of illegal modifications to his cars that gave him an unfair advantage, and is the only reason that he is considered by some to be a great driver.
Hendrick Motorsports drivers including Jeff Gordon are known for being overrated, and would be mediocre drivers at best if they were with other teams.

The term originated at the University of Vermont when a popular student by the name of Gordon continuously used the word relationship and ended his relationship with an Art Professor after feeding her dog a cookie.

Contrary to popular belief, Blood Gordons, (Excluding the beast) Are absolutely NOT FREAKS. Blood Gordons, Especially those of the Goldfish variety, are actually highly educated and witty individuals with great taste in music. They are capable of going great lengths to prove someone wrong. I.E. Making a legit definition for themselves just to accentuate the fact that they are not a freak.
