Somebody who finds refuge from the sheer mundanity of everyday life in the bosom of a particularly engrossing videogame. General stereotypes have already been mentioned, but in my experience with fellow gamers, they are largely misanthropic and just find most people uninteresting. This could perhaps explain why many are seen as socially inept and introverted, but then again, I doubt misanthropia is a popular mindset. The gamers I know are well-read and erudite (in contrast with the idea that games 'rot your brain' - ever noticed how people who make such claims are usually Big Brother watching idiots themselves?).

Video games - because real life is for poseurs.

indian gamer

Gamers from India who think they are real gamers. Mostly spend their time talking about graphics and hardware. Obsessed with CS, Fifa, Dota, GTA etc. Mostly play pc and either pirate games or buy steam games during sales.

Indian gamer 1: Eh tu CS khelta hai kya? (Hey, do you play CS?)
IG2: Haa bhai, crack bhej na (Yeah bro, send me the crack)

IG1:Fifa 18 khelta kya (You play Fifa 18?)
Haa.

IG2: Kya mast graphics hai! (Yep. What amazing graphics!)

you can get this by using stretch screen, having razer mouse, headset and keyboard, have heaps of friends to scream with when u do something cool. having this will enable superpowers, thus, getting epic pogchamp moments. (only epic gamers would have this)

Faux Gamer Girl

Noun: Any woman who uses video game/nerd culture as a means of artificially increasing her rating on the hotness scale or to obtain undeserved attention from a male audience.

She may even play mainstream games such as Halo/Gears/CoD/etc but will generally have an over inflated sense of self. This is due to the fact that many in the video game community regard moderately attractive women who game thusly: "OmG!! G1rLs Wh0 G4mE ARE HAWT!!"

These types of women will continually point back at the fact that "I play games and menstruate, and therefore, you should worship me" by doing a variety of things. Such as cosplaying or larping as the sluttiest VG character they can find.

Posting images on their blog or tumblr of them naked with only 360 controllers or Mario plushies covering their naughty bits.

Getting a video game based "tramp stamp" or other risque vg based tattoo.

Playing a popular game in a bikini, lingerie, or form fitting clothing (that may or may not contain imagery that's part of video game/geek culture). Then taking pictures of it. Then posting said pictures on the web.

If you spend more time telling people that "you're a girl who plays games" instead of "here's the games I play" you may be a faux gamer girl.
