describing a situation or a problem that has to be addressed immediately with highest priority. The word is used when no other word suffice to explain the extent to which a topic is important.

This comes from all the politicians, crooks and others who have used the word "seriously" when they were actually lying, e.g: "Seriously, am Innocent-Robert Blake","Seriously, am innocent-Martha Stuart","seriously, am straight"-Ryan Seacrest

Someone who doesn't know how else to take things, and if they did, they'd be someone else would they not?

The guy doesn't know how not to be a straight and take shit seriously, its why he's not a successful clown, you have to have a sense of humor to be a clown. People who take life seriously don't make good clowns, if they'd be on their way to being a clown shortly after high school. Clown is something you are or you're not, a clown is born a clown.
