1869, Eng. dialect jerry "bad, defective," a pejorative use of the male nickname Jerry (a popular form of Jeremy), or from naut. slang jury "temporary," which came to be used of all sorts of makeshift and inferior objects.

Note: "Jury Rigged" is a temporary solution done with materials at hand (and can be considered clever), while "Jerry Rigged" (or "Jerry Built") is a poorly made permanent construction, and has no positive connotations.

Those pre-fabricated houses built by the contractor with the lowest bid are probably jerry-built.

This can be defined as anything that is "tight," "smashin," "hot," or "tastes good." The phrase is used in strong like, or excitement about something/someone/someplace.

A guy is walking by and you think he is hott, you lean over and whisper to your girls, "thats some jerk in a can!"

You are shopping and you see a pair of jeans that just rock.. you can't help but yell out "damn, those are Jerky in a can!"

Jerry the Rock Star

Jerry the Rock Star is a mixed drink made with Mocha Rockstar Energy Drink and Sailor Jerry's Rum. It is made with a shot and a half of Sailor Jerry's in a 16oz cup with lots of ice. Next Mocha Rockstar is added til glass is full. Stir and serve.
