Often done in iconic landscape scenes in a vain attempt to make the picture more dramatic. It's not known why this phenomenon exists only among women, but some theorize it's done in order to make the insta armer seem more adventurous, extreme, and free spirited... even though there is generally a major road or the car mere feet away.
