A term that is far too often used to dismiss an opposing opinion that is based on morals, ethics, or ideals, when the introduction of such into a debate could critically undermine one's stance.

Waldon: "But you CAN'T flatten that building to build a Walmart! Not only is it an orphanage, but the roof is a rare bird sanctuary, it's built over a graveyard AND an aquifer, hosts the only local live music night in the city on Wednesdays, and is a legally protected heritage site!"

Developer: "Don't listen to that virtue signalling hippy, boys, start up them bulldozers, we got a permit!"

The Wokenization of Singapore Math

When white Christian nationalists or ultra-MAGA patriots subscribe to the radical pedagogy that adopting (or adapting part of) the Singapore math curriculum would only adulterate theirs, because exposing local students to alien problem-solving strategies and heuristics under the guise of multicultural math or ethnomathematics would only give undue credit to foreign curriculum math specialists and publishers.

A number of white or “woke” curriculum censors are covertly working hand in hand with American textbook publishers to push for the wokenization of Singapore math, with both parties having a vested interest to ensure that dear inch-deep-mile-wide K–12 math textbooks rather than value-for-money foreign math titles inundate as many states and local schools as possible.

Sinaloa Cartel

The Sinaloa Cartel, often described as the largest and most powerful drug trafficking organization in the Western Hemisphere, is an alliance of some of Mexico’s top drug traffickers. The coalition operates in concert to protect themselves and more loosely to keep their businesses going smoothly. It relies on connections at the highest levels, corrupting portions of the federal police and military to maintain an upper hand on its rivals.

The cartel’s tentacles stretch from New York City to Buenos Aires and most every major city in between. It has successfully penetrated government and security forces wherever it operates. It prefers the bribe to the bullet and the alliance to the fighting, but it is not above organizing its forces to overrun areas that it wants to control by force. Its central bond is blood: many of its members are related or have become related by marriage. However, the cartel also often acts more like a federation than a tightly knit organization. The core of the group, the Beltrán Leyva Organization, split from the cartel in 2008. The Sinaloa Cartel has since created new alliances with former enemies in the Gulf Cartel and the Familia Michoacana. More morphing is to be expected as these alliances, even those formed by blood, are tenuous.

Single Bullet Theory

Literally, a theory that states when man is set against impossible odds, his final bullet will be on himself rather than his enemies. Figuratively, a plan to "cut one's losses" or make sacrifices as a last resort.

So, yeah, according to Mike's single bullet theory, he's gonna play the market right out to the bitter end and try to cash in on as many stocks as possible; however, things don't look good.

Singapore

Singapore, the most developed nation in Asia no matter what you use as your yardstick. (HDI, GDP/NP per capita, literacy rates, healthcare accessibility, life expectancy ...) Singaporeans' purchasing power ranks fifth in the world and just happens to flatten all of its "giant" neighbors.

Neighbors like Malaysia, little sore cocksuckers, tend to disregard that and persist in their delusion and point at Singapore's supposedly "over-stringent" laws like the banning of chewing gum. However, they are oblivious to the fact that the ban on chewing gum has already been lifted. Also, their floors are genuine evidences that laws against frivolent littering should be enforced.

Singapore is the most metropolitan and globalized city in Asia, its citizens enjoying a stronger purchasing power than Malaysia even while facing a recession.
