Logical Neutrality Fallacy

The denial that, in practical contexts, logic is not neutral—that power struggles and vested interests operate through logic, and that logic is a space of power just like science and academia. The fallacy lies in insisting that logic floats free of human interests, that logical standards are universal and impartial, when in fact what counts as logical, whose logic counts, and how logic is applied all reflect power relations. Logical Neutrality Fallacy is what happens when privilege becomes invisible—those with logical privilege assume their logic is just logic, not one logic among many backed by institutional power.

Fallacy of Logical Neutrality

The mistaken belief that logic remains neutral in situations of power struggle, paradigm conflict, or hegemonic dispute—that logical rules apply equally to all parties regardless of their position in social, intellectual, or institutional hierarchies. In reality, what counts as "logical" is often determined by those in power, and logical frameworks themselves can be tools of domination. The fallacy lies in pretending that logic floats free of human interests, that it's a pure instrument available equally to all. But when disputing logical paradigms (classical vs. non-classical), logical privileges (who gets to define good reasoning), or logical hegemony (Western logic as universal), neutrality is impossible—logic is part of the struggle, not above it.

1. the tendency to or the condition of doing or saying completely moronic shit. Esp a temporary condition that plagues the sufferer who typically (we hope) behaves rationally and intellegently, but for whatever reason, cannot think clearly and act sanely at the present time.
2. Condition that causes one to be unable to think of a word or coherant thought that is just at the tip of his or her tongue, either leaving the sufferer hanging or making him/her say something incorrect and stupid instead.
