Neo-Hippie

First off it's a noun.
Neo-Hippies call themselves hippies or modern hippies. First off they are kind hearted like the 60's hippies. They are called neo-hippies because their views are different in a few ways from the first hippies. As usual stereo typed like all people are. they are one against stereotypes and are their own people like the 60's hippies were. they have some common goals like peace and freedom. they are called neo for adding new beliefs like budaism and vegitarism. i'm not saying all believe in that stuff just some. as usual dressing their own way away from the norm. they are okay with gays, bi's, lezbains, and non-sexauls but that doesn't make them one. neo-hippie and hippie are so deep and vary between people you can't really define it. p.s. NOT ALL do drugs and not take showers.

Hippiester

One who has the characteristics of both a hippie and a hipster. Female hippiesters are often seen with their pit hair flowing freely from the arm holes of their American Apparel tanktops.

"Ugh, did you smell that?? Twas the BO of that chick in the neon jumpsuit. That diry hippiester."

Hippie

Non-conformists who support liberal ideals such as peace, civil rights, environmental awareness, government transparency, consumer protections, justice, and awareness about corporate and political corruption. Besides being largely a group of activists, they tend to represent and be comprised of common, working class people, artists, educators and philosophers who feel that their activism is an important civic duty, which is every citizen's responsibility to do. During the 1960s and 70s, they were associated with such things as far out music that had meaning and soul, tie-dye, flowers (the term "flower child"), laid back attitudes (in order to offset their strong sense of responsibility,) pot smoking (but not all hippies liked or used it,) long hair as an expression of non-conformity, and as a statement against conventionalism, and blind/thoughtless adherence to to arbitrary rules and societal norms, and yes.... a badass friggin guitarist- with enormous friggin balls who revolutionalized the electric guitar- by the name of Jimi Hendrix. Some accomplishments of the hippie movement of the '60s and '70s:

-Advanced women's rights
-Upheld consumer protections
-Raised environmental awareness
-Promoted racial diversity
-Improved government transparency (at least temporarily)
-Raised awareness about corporate corruption
-Pushed forward many laws regarding poverty
-Helped end the Veitnam War
-Furthered the cause of peace
-Produced a WHOLE lot of groovy music

Probably the greatest thing ever to happen to the 1960's yes they smoked Marijuana and did LSD but their message of Peace and Love was the truth and also responsible for great events such as Monterey Pop and Woodstock which featured music legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and The Who

Swamp Hippie

A Redneck with liberal political and religious views. Usually drives a 4 wheel drive vehicle, owns a handgun, loves his country but believes in free love, cares about welfare of other humans and animals and digs tunes by the Grateful Dead.

A few of the local Swamp Hippies setup a mud wrestling match to help raise money to stop global warming.
