A relative of the words shmoosh and shleesh. It is generally used as a word to express curiosity in a matter.
On it's own in a sentence the word is usually increased in pitch at the end, just like normally asking a question, see example 1 below. Shmoo may be added as a prefix, suffix or stem of a word.
