The act of repeatedly continuing in an arcade video game solely to complete it (usually a 2D
shooter where the player's
ship or character respawns on the
spot instead of being returned to a checkpoint), which on a
real machine can only be accomplished by inserting lots of coins - hence the "credit-feed".
But it's a very unprofessional way of gaming as opposed to learning and memorizing the levels, and often comes with the penalty of having one's score reset to 0 every
time he or she continues.
Furthermore, to make things even worse... the ability to continue is lost once the final level or final boss is reached in some titles - particularly those made by Taito and SNK!
Joe bribed his way to victory by credit-feeding in Takumi and Capcom's Giga Wing and called it an accomplishment; but this prompted his
friend (a seasoned gamer), to slap him in the
face.
