When a person rises to the top, by sheer arrogance, wicked privilege and total lack of self awareness. Especially when there was many others who could have far superiority knowledgeably and culturally represented.

The epitome of toxic positivity, where a person lacks any self awareness and has no self criticism yet continues to foster an environment of praise and exuberates self praise. Has been gaslit all their life into believing they can do no wrong and that they themselves are possibly a victim of circumstance or some negative connotation and thus will continue to gaslight others while living in a spiral of narcissism and celebrate below mediocre outcomes through a sense of unjustified entitlement.

"Why did Hitler continue to push his forces towards the end of world war 2 even though he had clearly lost and every competent person around him knew that he had several years before." He just Rayguned it, he wasn't going to turn around and say, "mate I stuffed up, we shouldn't be in this position," he was like "I am going to Raygun this all the way. "

Raygun

A type of behavior that is the epitome of toxic positivity, where a person lacks self awareness and displays no self criticism who then further goes onto gaslight people who call them out on their sub standard or acceptable behavior and or performance. Possibly suffering from narcissism, displays a lack of accountability, is highly manipulative and maintains a constant aura of victimhood. Ethical behavior is viewed as highly subjective and the view of self and grandeur are the most important outcome regardless of what it does to the rest of society.

Why did Hitler not give up the war towards the end of WW2, even though the closest to him also knew that Germany had lost. He just Rayguned it, I mean he was not going to admit that he had doomed his people and caused mayhem and destruction like the world had never seen, he thought "I'll just Raygun it to the end".

A person who has faked their way into a high status position despite their obvious lack of ability or competence.

Example:

He’s in charge but he’s a total raygunn.

I hired them on their skill set and experience but I’ve come to realise they are just another raygunn.

The data is flawed because the team was made up of raygunns that management selected.

There are too many raygunns in our parliament and government department for this country to function properly.

I really hope this new guy doesn’t turn out to be a raygunn.

Verb: to Raygun.
In the wake of the 2024 Olympic Breakdancing competition, Australian b-girl "Raygun" made international headlines and social media blew up over her unusual performance in which she scored a perfect 0 from 54 judges over three rounds in the competition.
It's like when you lie on your CV and then turn up and have to pretend you know how to do the job... that's Raygunning it.

Oh man, this new step-up role is a bit of a stretch for me, I'm just gonna Raygun it.
