McMurry III, as a term used to describe a present that is given to someone else but ultimately meant for your self. - The term originated from a story in which the creator of the term (Benjamin F. McMurry) gave his father, (who was in no way affiliated with sports) a basketball for his Christmas gift. Ben's father of course had no use for the Basketball, so it inevitably returned back to him (Ben).
