Get the boo boo runsmug. In the 1960s TV show Laverne & Shirley, a black stuffed cat was named Boo Boo Kitty. This was Shirley’s childhood toy that she would cradle when she was sad. Actress Cindy Williams created this name one day while shooting a scene “off the cuff” when she grabbed a prop cat and the term just came out. Because SHE is brilliant. Others have since copied the term, one has claimed it as her own- but make no mistake it originated on this widely watched TV show that has been in re-runs for decades.
