Over the top attempts at "trying" to look like part of a life style or image that one is really not genuinely or originally connected too. eg..Bought ornaments that one places in ones house to try and display an image or familiarity of that particularly type of way of living that in actual fact one is new too or not really connected to at all.
The couple that had newly obtained a farm and farm house went out to antique shops and clearing sales and bought "phoof" to fill their house with to make it look as though they were 3rd generation farming people.
