Method Trolling

A technique of trolling in which a troll aspires to complete emotional identification with a part, based on the system evolved by Stanislavsky and brought into prominence in the US in the early 2000's. Method trolling was developed in online environments such as YouTube, 4chan, reddit and earlier websites such as Newgrounds and Funnyjunk. Though the terminology itself was first coined in a set of steam messages on September 18, 2020 by online user Hobo (vista california).

John Cena Trolling

John Cena trolling is a typing of trolling used primarily on Twitch or Hitbox streams that have a built in YouTube video player. The way the troll works is by creating a seemingly innocent video for the YouTube player, but then around half way through, the video changes to WWE Wrestler John Cena Screaming "JOHN CENA!" Followed by a brief 10 second montage of him wrestling.
A lot like a rick-roll, this was popularized on BrittanyVenti's streams.

Streamer: *streaming video game*
YouTube Player: "Is this the Krusty Krab? No, this is JOHN CENA"

Streamer: JESUS CHRIST.

Ghost trolling

When a person has been trolled, however after the original troll stops, that person continues to respond negatively, as if they were still being trolled.

Example of Ghost Trolling

Troll: -Says something vaguely trolling to another person-
Person 1: -Responds negatively to that person-
Troll leaves.
20 minutes pass.
Person 1: -Continues insulting the troll, even though he has left.-

Team Trolling

Verb. The act of trolling in coordination with one or more other trolls to maximize efficiency and effect. Is often used to create the illusion of mass hatred toward certain parties.

Scott: "Hey me and a buddy are team trolling this chicks blog so that maybe then she'll sleep with me. Wanna help me out?"

Austin: "Alright spam jew and then I'll throw a tits or gtfo at her."

Mass Trolling

Something someone does on Facebook, for example, to destroy someone's news feed. This often happens on a daily basis causing them to be unfriended frequently. But they don't care, because they are most likely a douche anyways. They constantly upload videos, link youtube videos, post status' and pictures. These status' often include very mediocre statements, ideas and information. Once in awhile they post something interesting, but most likely, they wont.

Shit Trolling

To troll, but in a lackluster manner that is much lazier and less effective than traditional trolling. Unlike traditional trolling, Shit Trolling is done when one simply wishes to get a few cheap laughs out of his/her victims, rather constructing an elaborate and/or clever ruse to reel in his/her prey. Basically, a small-scale trolling which guarantees less results for less effort.

I was tired last night, but felt like shit trolling, so I posted a blatantly biased comment on some guy's Facebook post in order to get a few hateful replies.
