The neighbourhood is a known immigrant hub, with many of the residents coming from 3rd world countries. Thorncliffe Park has many cheap highrise and lowrise apartments and public housing units. Thorncliffe Park is also known as TPK or Tpark.
While the neighbourhood is generally not very dangerous, the neighbourhood has a history of many shootings, stabbings and gang activity. Police can be seen patrolling the neighbourhood very often. The neighbourhood is known to be in conflict with a nearby neighbourhood, Flemingdon Park - along with other neighbourhoods.
Rapper known as "Road Runner" comes from Thorncliffe park and is known to represent the neighbourhood through his music.
