There is a general misconception as to what a "scene kid" is. Let's break it down, shall we? "Scene" is a fashion. It erupted from the music scene, derived from emotive hardcore, punk, screamo, softcore, ect. Just like retro or vintage, scene is what you wear, how you wear your makeup, and how your hair is styled. Therefore, a scene kid is a person who dresses in scene couture. We all know the norm: skinny jeans, vans, animal print shirt, long necklaces, lip rings, heavy eye makeup, layered, teased, and multicolored hair. Sadly, many younger teens will load themselves over with black eyeliner and sidesweep their bangs and run around saying, "Rawr I is a scene kid kthnxbai." Many people consider scene kids to have a certain attitude and be vain, but that isn't the case. Whereas that may be some, remember that anybody can dress scene. What you wear won't affect your personality.

Many people think scene is jsut another word for emo. But thats where they are wrong. Scene kids are a mixture of prep, and emo.

Girls: you have two layers of hair. On on the top..about 4 inches long. use pounds of hairsprya on it everyday, make it stand nice and tall. Makeup is huge, coated on thick, and either black, or multicolored. never ever no eyeshadow, or nude color makeup. EVER. your pants are so tight you can hardly fit into them. you go to shows all the time. your myspace pictures have angles. in itleast one of your pictures you are doing the metal claw. you have a myspace, duh, everybody has a myspace. in your myspace; skinny layouts, graphics, your myspace name is an alliteration. ex: taylor terro. killer kasey. you get it. very pale. write on your hands daily. wears itleast 3 layers of shirts. berkanstocks are completely discusting. your not cought dead iwht your hair tucked behind your ears. often use retro words;stellar,rad,radtastic. or even some ghetto ones; ballin', er'body, iight,etc. you call everybody kid, kiddoh, kiddies. very huggable. myspace whore; itleast 1k..i mean..come'n. you go to the mall..just to go look at clothes and scream "i ned this!!!!!" to make sure everybody hears you. attention is called for. you often do the white kid dances; running man, cabbage patch, sprinkler, YMCA,q-tip,buggy cart. you HATE country. no exceptions. yu amke fun of practically everybody thats not in your 'clique'. you get mad if your called emo,gothic,punk, you are SCENE. pfft..geesh! you have ana ttitude about almost everything. you talk like a valley girl all the time. your hair is fun, no matter what.multicolored. even if just blonde and black, that does it. if your hair is one color, you shall never be a true scene kidd. talks 'kinky' all the time.screams out the most random things.

though they are not to be confused. scene kids have teased ( backcombed) hair and side bangs or full bangs but they must be choppy. hair is the biggest part of scene.
most the time with a neon streak most favoured is pink.
scene kids LOVE anything to do with childhood ie. dinasours, spiderman, hello kitty. any disney characters and will often watch babys shows.
scene kids dress as an emo would but adding some bright colours to it. unlike emo's they would wear leopard print and zebra print, a bit more imaginative.
they like to use random phrases and words like RAWRRR, NIGZZ, STELLARR, often adding letters.
scene kids are usually very preppy and happy. dont be suprised if you seeee a massive group of scene kids with about 3 of them skipping and shouting, and acting very childishh.
anyone can slit their wrists or self harm so im not guna say that emos self harm and scene kidss dont cuz i noee some scene kids who do self harm.
they wear vans or converse mostly neon or dark colours that are bold compared to their bright clothes.
most wear pearl necklaces some can wear lots of multicoloured necklaces. :)

8 STEPS TO BECOMING SCENE:
GOODLUCK AND GODSPEED
Step 1:Get a side of your lip pierced(Either left or right, no middle)
Step 2:Cut your hair in the back because "it is annoying" and spike it
Step 3:Get sides cut and spike in the back
Step 3:Take mirror shots(NO SMILES!) scribble on them in paint
Step 4:Wear new balances(Steal your brothers if none available or waiting for them in the mail)
Step 5:Change your social scene
Step 6:Go to shows and hardcore dance
Step 7:Make sure your myspace name is changed to an emo/scene song lyric or song title
Step 8: Don't forget to get the picture of you with your hood up and your hair sprawled(wifted) across your face(MAKE SURE A MINIMUM OF 5 STRANDS COVER YOUR EYE! and preferably take shot where only one eye is showing.

If you read this, because you want to become "scene" all you need to do, is listen to bands that are "in" at the moment. Wear tight pants, that show your ass a bit. For guys eyeliner is in, for girls eyeliners always been in. Lip piercings will always make you scene. And if you use Myspace make sure you pose in all of your pictures and try to get as much friends as possible.

You all think that scene kids all dress the same, and you know wat, yeah they pritty much do. But guess wat? So dose evry one els! All the preps have their layers from garage and hot roxy jeans. All the gansters have their way too bagy pants and 5 sizes too big blank white or black t-shirt. All the punks have the black tight pants and neon net shirts or blank band shirt. And so on for evry genre...
And so wat if they listen 2 diffrent music? You all think that they listen 2 "unpopular music" or music that no one in the univers has ever heard of, guess again! there's just as manny people who listen to emo then those who listen to pop or rap. The reason you dont hear about it is the whole reason why it exists. They prefer to listen to "their own music" or music that makes them seem diffrent. They dont need to have their music posted on evry blog on the internet, they just need it to be somewhere for them to get at and listen to. They conect with their music and if evry one was listening to it, evry one would have that same conection with the music. Wouldnt exactly make you feel spechal would it?
