a male or female friend who is reliable or just a great person in general (often used as a form of address).
"they'd never choose a him/her over their bros"
Also used as a term for someone who has been frienzoned
ie. A friendship exists between two people, one of whom has an unreciprocated romantic or sexual interest in the other.
"What the HELL is the friend zone? When a girl decides that you're no longer a dating option. You become this complete nonsexual entity in her eyes, like her brother or a LAMP"
