Johnny Bobbler is a slang name given to a police officer. Even though Johnny is a male name the phrase can be used to describe both male and female officers.

Burst your bubble

To burst someone's bubble is to reveal something to them that they were unaware or ignorant of, often in the form of bad news. However, it doesn't necessarily have to be something negative (see example 2).
Example 1: Sorry to burst your bubble, but your "perfect" girlfriend is cheating on you with Dave.

Example 2: Sorry to burst your bubble, but pearls are not formed from compressed coal. You're thinking of diamonds.

economic bubble

A phenomenon in economics in which too much loose cash finds its way into an area of the market, e.g., stocks, housing, dot-com, etc., resulting in a buying frenzy that leads to wildly inflated prices. Economic activity in those areas affected is not sustainable in the long run, so large numbers of late investors eventually go bankrupt.
We were warned of an economic bubble, but bought high-priced shares anyway thinking we could unload them on some poor sap before the bubble burst. Boy, were we wrong!
