Asstivism

Any form of 'activism' that you do while sitting on your ass. An attempt to feel like you're making a difference, but without making the effort to put clothes on and get off the couch.

Example: E-mailing a show's sponsors to demand that they stop advertising on that show.
I went to a town hall meeting and argued against a new policy; it was more meaningful than the asstivism that people on Facebook do.

Artivism

Artivism involves using art as a tool to not only
comment on needed societal changes but also to inform others on these pressing issues and inspire them to take action. An example of an artivist is Kusama who held art happenings where she ministered over the first weddings between gay men in the USA. Goldsworthy is another artist who uses eco art that inspires mindfulness of our natural surroundings (healing art) but crosses over into artivism in that it serves as a catalyst for nature preservation.
Mele Murals is artivism that combines street/graffiti mural art with raising awareness of and preserving Native Hawaiian culture.
