A hairstyle for women, whereby a 3" by 4" section of hair from the forehead region is thrust back and tied into a ponytail at the mid-section of woman's scalp while the rest of the hair on the head takes on a completely unrelated hairstyle. Fashion statement or unfortunate necessity for women with a thinning crown?

Poor Betty. She was so pretty growing up. After that horrible fireworks accident, she had to wear a woupée.
