Wikidiving

The act of aimlessly clicking through links in an online wiki, such as Wikipedia, often driven by boredom and wanton curiosity. This is facilitated by the fact that most wiki's are crosslinked everywhere, so you may very well look up "Potato" and eventually wind up in "Vaginal Suppository".

I got sucked into a three hour wikidive last night, starting at "Animal farm" and winding up at "Crush Fetish."

Wiki scholar

Someone who thinks they know everything about life even though they've never left the house and experienced anything for themselves. They come off like they're knowledgeable but only for the sole purpose of impressing others. In reality, they're looking up articles on Wikipedia that probably aren't even accurate.

"I know all about the grunge era because I was there when it happened."

"No you weren't, you're just a douchebag Wiki scholar who's never even been outside. Turn off the computer and get a life."

The cockroach motel of wiki hosting; they check in, but they don't check out. They say they'll host your wiki for free, then they plaster your wiki with intrusive advertising, censor your content and deface everything with unsightly, click-baity reskins. When you try to leave, you find that you cannot due to search engine duplicate content penalties.

I used to edit on Wikia, but left when they threw the Uncyclopedia under the bus.

Wikia

The old name of FANDOM, a crappy wiki-hosting platform where almost everyone are BFDI or GoAnimate fans. Wikis are pretty messy with vandalism 24/7 from little kids. ShoutWiki is better.

BFDI fanboy: Hey i joined this cool new platform called Wikia, It's pretty cool
Normal guy: What?
BFDI fanboy: Oh, it's now called FANDOM, Just don't forget to use adblock!
