Squirreling

1. referring to a sudden distraction (an A.D.D. lapse in time) mid thought, while another is talking, or when trying to accomplish any task.

(definition is in reference to the movie Up when the evil dogs would stop mid sentence thinking they saw a squirrel)

Example 1: "Stop squirreling on me bro."

Example 2: "Quit squirreling on me every 2 seconds, I'm trying to give you directions."

NOTE: there was a lot of squirreling while trying to define this word.

The act of extreme indecisiveness and unsurety. Resembles the retarded confusion you would get from a squirrel that crosses the road, then halfway through decides to go back.

Judy was doing a squirrel on her decisions whether to paint her room red or blue.

A nickname often given to a rookie firefighter who tends to be over zealous.

They typically believe they know more than they actually do, and relish in telling others the stories of there heroism, which are almost always exaggerations of the truth.

Did you meet the new guy? He was talking about that box the other day. To hear him tell it, you'd think he drove the engine there, and put the thing out himself. What a squirrel.
