A suddenly-healthy individual whose aversion to being close to other people, or - gasp! - being touched, was very recently seen as a disorder. In these stressful times he is a paragon of sanity.

I don't want to seem like a sociophobe, but please... the six-foot rule? Don't breathe on me, don't touch me, don't even look at my food!

Sockophile

Someone who loves or collects socks; plain and ordinary; think or thick; colourful or wacky. Perhaps they have a special type like Argyle or a specific fabric such as wool, cotton, lycra. They may also have more than one sock draw, overflowing with socks. Some people even like to wear odd socks; whilst others can't 'stand' socks with holes.

SOCK-O-PHILIA

'Sockophilia I.e the love for socks.' Hence, whoever loves or is over interested in wearing or collecting socks is a Sockophile.

Why dont bears wear socks?
Because they have bear feet.

he went to the gym regularly.

Somnophiletos

A coined term meaning “one who is loved in sleep.” Derived from somno- (Latin somnus, “sleep”) and -philetos (Greek philetos, “beloved”). It serves as the passive counterpart to somnophile—the person who loves or is attracted to someone sleeping.

In that dynamic, the somnophiliac is the actor; the somnophiletos is the sleeper.
