When a person completely screws up a catch phrase or say something very stupid. Originated from Ricky on the Trailer Park Boys tv show.

Instead of saying "it's not rocket science"
You say "it's not rocket appliances"
This would be an example of screwing up a catch phrase therefore you have a rickyism
