temporal narcissism

The self-centeredness or vanity of an individual expressing itself through dysphoria caused by the inability to pause, rewind, or fast-forward stimuli or events occurring around him or her in the same way he or she can pause a TiVo or other media device.
(as described on CNet podcast 591)
-Temporal narcissism is often seen when people regrettably remember that they can't rewind the movie they're watching at the movie theater when they couldn't make out what was said.

-Example of temporal narcissism: Driving home from work today, I got really indignant after remembering I couldn't pause the radio while I ordered dinner at the drive-through window.

Teflon Shield of Narcissism

An amazing feature of certain personality disorders that renders the individual technically immune from even acknowledging the possibility of corrective criticism; thereby preserving inherent self-destructive, exclusivistic tendencies.
So, he does realize that what he's saying is absolute BS and that fact-checking those ridiculous statements will make him look even more detached and idiotic, right?
Ummm, not exactly. Our Crapper in Chief is protected by a Teflon Shield of Narcissism that no logic can penetrate.

Virtual Narcissism

Temporarily simulated narcissism. To imply boastfulness, conceit, egocentricity in a virtual world or Social Media outlet such as Facebook.
Virtual Narcissism is the insecure act of requesting friends you do not know, simply to boast how many people you imply you know to the virtual world of Facebook, MySpace or any other Social Media outlet found on the World Wide Web with no intention to network or act of personal gain. It is simply to stroke the ego, while spending personal wasted hours adding friends you will never meet in the real world.

The need for virtual popularity is known as Virtual Narcissism

Narcissism Ratio

The ratio of photos of yourself you've added in Facebook to those added by others. Mitigating considerations may include Korean Tourist Disorder, which compels one to take pictures of oneself in front of every landmark encountered regardless of its insignificance.
Dick: Jane is such a self-centered bitch. She has like 700 photos of herself tagged.
Dave: Srsly. Her narcissism ratio is off the charts.
