It's a Somali term for coarse hair. The invert of Jileec (Soft hair). Somalis vary in hair texture from Afro to Curly/Wavy these terms are applied to an individual Somali as a nickname . Jareer is also applied to Africans largely of West African & Bantu descent generally , just like Jileec is applied people of South Asian descent .
