Humaneism rejects aspiring to be human, since "human" carries huge evolutionary baggage. To aspire to be "human" is to value "might makes right," "kill or be killed," "winner takes all," "territorialism," "tribalism." To be a humane rather than a human means to aspire to community, negotiation, mutual respect, inclusiveness, protectiveness, sharing, and the golden rule. Not the rule of gold (human).
