Hangoff

That person that hangs out with you but doesn't. When your in public that person is there but will sometimes wonder away and then come back when they want other people to think they have friends. Usually this person has no group out side of this group they "hangout" with. They are socially hanging off your group and your friends. They do this to seem higher of in the social hierarchy. This is sometimes referred to as a third wheel but in this case the person isn't invited or wanted at the group events. Try not to wear it out.

Jimmy is a hangoff of the swim fam group.

When one farts and then proceeds to "hand it off" from the source of the smell to the smellee. The only way to explain such an act is to think of baseball where you "catch" it from behind you and deliver it to the nose of the unsuspecting victim. (This was one of the hazards while growing up a Marine brat!)

Handoff Child

A child whose parents are divorced or separated and share joint custody. Therefore the child his handed off back and forth between parents at a set frequency.

Little Gary was a handoff child growing up. He went to his mom’s house every other weekend after his parents got divorced.
