(ECONOMICS) money that is used by a business to buy fixed capital or circulating capital. For a very new company or a company expanding extremely quickly, finance capital can sometimes be used to pay workers (before revenues overtake operating costs).

Finance capital can be borrowed from a commercial bank, raised by an investment bank (through an issue of stock; see initial public offering) or though a bond issue, commercial paper, or even a repurchase agreement.

The ultimate purpose of stock exchanges like the NYSE is to raise finance capital.

finance controller

A controller of finance oversees the functions of accounting in the company and ensures records are kept properly. They contribute to the financial strategies of the company and in developing internal control policies. They also perform risk management activities and develop plans to minimize risk

They ensure that all accounting information are accurate and proper at all times at each end of each quarters of the comapny's fiscal year.

I serve as a finance controller to provide risk mitigations from financial fraud both, internally and externally. I provide quarterly reports during each quarters (4x within a fiscal year) and also I ensure that our company are in compliant of all GAAP and accounting laws.

Finance Park

Finance Park is a field trip that students in Fairfax, Virginia go on in grade 8. The program started in 2010. Students are bussed to a location to work through a simulation of what it is like to be an adult. They have to budget their bills and get a phone plan and utilities from different companies. Real life companies sponsor finance park.
