The American Wrestling Association took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota ran by Verne Gagne and Wally Karbo from 1960 to 1991.

Many wrestling greats came from the AWA to continue on as WWF and WCW wrestlers.

Their downfall came with the lack of talent after all of their talent went to other organizations.
