mouse fuzz

The jawdroppingly-gross detritus that spills out of a mouse or trackball while it's being cleaned. Weeks, months, or - heaven forbid - years of unidentifiable dreck, caught by a technological crumb catcher.

Where does it come from? Why does it stay? How does it all fit? Nobody knows.
